In this fast paced world we depend on our body to take us here and there. What we eat and when we eat greatly impacts how efficiently your body can keep up with your daily demands. In this segment we will look at a few things you can do to keep you body healthy and happy.
The Morning Start-Up
Many people do the usual rush job in the mornings scarfing down breakfast and inhaling a few cups of coffee to perk up, bad.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here.
The problem is your morning sets the tone for the whole day, you get burned out by lunch time. Taking the extra half hour in the morning, eating some fresh fruit along with a light juice (not a syrupy type of juice) will reduce the stress on your digestive system and give your body time to extract and process the glucose it needs for energy.
Lunch Time
Have you ever wondered why you feel so tired after a big meal?
The reason is foods that are heavy to digest require more digestives juices to process the food. Eating heavy at lunch makes you tired because blood rushes to your digestive area to help with the process, thus there is less blood to your brain and you feel sleepy.
Salads, yogurt, 1/2 sandwiches, these types of items will lighten the load on your digestive system.
Dinner
This is the time you will load up on your steak and potatoes.
You should have dinner at least 3 hours before going to bed. This will give your system plenty of time to process the food and not disrupt your sleep.
People like cold beverages with their meal, here is the problem. Consider your digestive juices like a fire, this fire is burning up the food you eat which is called Digestion. When you consume cold beverages you are retarding the flame, this hinders digestion. Try, as bad as it might seem, drinking a beverage at room temperature or better yet drink hot tea.
You will notice how much quicker your food digests and you will probably feel better in the morning because you had a much better nights sleep.
